The Ethereum Argentina event arrives: innovating in community to solve challenges in the region

The City of Buenos Aires is preparing to host Ethereum Argentina, the most anticipated technology event in the region, which promises to bring together more than 4,000 enthusiasts and experts.
In this unique meeting point, users, educators, students, entrepreneurs and developers will meet to exchange knowledge, share use cases and create projects aimed at solving real challenges in the region, taking advantage of the transformative potential of Ethereum and blockchain technology.
Ethereum Argentina will have two sections:
- Buildathon: On August 16 and 17, the Buildathon will invite developers from the region to create and design Web3 products that address real issues. With a focus on using technology to improve quality of life, the Buildathon will provide teams with mentorship in product development, business models, design, and user experience. More than 500 people are expected to participate in this event.
- Main conference: It will take place on August 18 and 19 and includes conferences by international speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities. More than 4,000 attendees are expected, providing them with ample opportunities to participate and learn.
“Ethereum Argentina seeks to promote the use of Ethereum technology, encourage innovation and expose successful use cases. We believe in the power of blockchain to improve the quality of life of people in Latin America”, commented the organizers of the event.
The conference will offer content for beginners and advanced levels. The talks will be given in Spanish and English, with translation services available to ensure inclusion and accessibility for all participants.

Argentina, world leader in cryptocurrency adoption
Argentina boasts one of the most vibrant Ethereum communities in the region and is among the top 20 countries in the world in terms of cryptocurrency adoption.
Numerous globally recognized blockchain and cryptocurrency projects have been founded by Argentine leaders, such as Decentraland, Poap, Open Zeppelin, Lemon, Belo, among others, consolidating the country’s reputation as a center of blockchain innovation.
Even the Government of the City of Buenos Aires accompanies the adoption and development of this technology, promoting a self-sovereign digital identity protocol, with a security anchor in blockchain; and through the creation of its own Ethereum validator node in order to collaborate with the decentralization of the network.
With a developing economy facing challenges such as inflation and limited access to traditional financial services, Ethereum technology has shown its potential to address these issues. Its applications range from improving transparency and security to fighting inflation and promoting financial inclusion.
